The Kearney-Rhodes house dates from 1867 and is a listed Akaroa Historic Building and
is in the final stages of a four year restoration. This large house with sheltered sunny garden has
been superbly finished to reflect it's age. Time spent here will provide peace and transport you into
the unhurried world of Akaroa's historic past.

Located in one of Akaroa's central streets in what originally was the 'French' end of town, you will be three
minutes walk from the beach, bank, post office, museum, Four Square and some of the finest restaurants
Canterbury has to offer.

Another ten minutes walk or short drive will take you to the 'English' end of Akaroa and cinema, library, school,
Gaiety Theatre, wharf and motels.

Tourist activities include both dolphin watching and swimming with dolphins, guided kayaking, fishing and swimming, hiking, walks and a relaxed village around which you can just stroll and enjoy the views, the people, the atmosphere...
